Bookr Driving School | Brisbane, Australia

Terms of Service

Effective Date: 1 July 2026

By using this website (“Service”), you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions (“Terms of Service”) with Andreas Andersen (ABN 54 770 192 742) trading as Bookr (“Bookr”, “we”, “our” or “us”).

Bookr reserves the right to update and amend these Terms of Service at any time without prior notice. The most current version will always be available on our website.

Eligibility and Licence Requirements

By booking a lesson, you confirm that:

  • You hold a current and valid learner licence or other licence permitting you to undertake driving instruction in Queensland.
  • You will carry your licence at all times during lessons and practical tests.
  • You are medically fit to drive and are not affected by alcohol, drugs, medication, fatigue, or any other condition that may impair your ability to operate a motor vehicle safely.
  • You will immediately notify Bookr of any suspension, cancellation, restriction, or change to your licence status.

Bookr reserves the right to refuse or terminate any lesson if an instructor reasonably believes it is unsafe or unlawful to proceed.

Traffic Infringements and Student Liability

All learners are legally responsible for their driving actions during lessons.

Any traffic infringements incurred while operating a vehicle during a lesson, including but not limited to speeding, failing to obey traffic signals, parking violations, or other breaches of road rules, remain the sole responsibility of the learner driver to the extent permitted by law.

Where a learner has been instructed multiple times and continues to disregard clear instruction, they remain liable for any fines, penalties, or demerit points issued. In such cases, the instructor reserves the right to terminate the lesson immediately and, at their discretion, refuse future bookings.

Vehicle Damage and Insurance Excess

Bookr maintains comprehensive motor vehicle insurance for its training vehicles. However, by booking a lesson, the learner (or the learner’s parent or legal guardian where the learner is under 18 years of age) agrees that they may be held responsible for any insurance excess, uninsured loss, or repair costs incurred by Bookr where damage to the vehicle or third-party property arises from:

  • reckless, dangerous, or negligent driving;
  • driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs;
  • knowingly breaching road rules;
  • failing to follow reasonable directions given by the instructor;
  • deliberately causing damage to the vehicle; or
  • providing false or misleading information regarding licence status or eligibility to drive.

Bookr may require payment of the applicable insurance excess or repair costs before accepting future bookings.

Nothing in this clause limits any rights or obligations that cannot lawfully be excluded under Australian Consumer Law.

Instructor Authority and Safety

For the safety of all road users, instructors may cancel or terminate a lesson immediately if a learner:

  • behaves aggressively, abusively, or inappropriately;
  • repeatedly disregards instructions;
  • presents without the required licence or identification;
  • appears impaired by alcohol, drugs, medication, or fatigue; or
  • creates an unsafe driving environment.

Lessons terminated for these reasons may be treated as completed lessons, and refunds will not ordinarily be provided.

Photography, Video and Promotional Content

During lessons, driving tests, or other activities, Bookr may take photographs or record video for training, safety, quality assurance, and promotional purposes, including use on Bookr’s website, social media accounts, and marketing materials.

By using the Service, you consent to Bookr capturing and using photographs or video recordings in which you may appear.

If you do not wish for your image or likeness to be used for promotional purposes, you may notify Bookr in writing at any time. Bookr will make reasonable efforts to cease future use of such content; however, material already published may remain in circulation where removal is not reasonably practicable.

Bookr will never knowingly use photographs or recordings in a misleading or defamatory manner.

Dashcam and In-Vehicle Recording Consent

For safety, insurance, training and quality assurance purposes, Bookr vehicles may be fitted with dashcams or other recording devices that capture video, audio, vehicle telemetry and location data.

By booking or participating in a lesson, you acknowledge and consent to such recordings being made.

Recordings may be accessed, retained and disclosed where reasonably necessary, including:

  • investigating complaints or incidents;
  • responding to insurance claims;
  • complying with legal obligations;
  • assisting law enforcement or government authorities;
  • improving instructor training and service quality; and
  • protecting the safety of instructors, learners and members of the public.

Bookr will handle all recordings in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

Right to Refuse or Terminate Service

Bookr reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to refuse, suspend, cancel or terminate lessons, bookings, accounts or services where:

  • a learner fails to hold a valid licence or required documentation;
  • payment has not been made;
  • a learner behaves in an abusive, threatening, aggressive, discriminatory or inappropriate manner;
  • a learner repeatedly disregards the instructor’s directions;
  • a learner appears to be under the influence of alcohol, drugs, medication or is otherwise impaired;
  • Bookr reasonably considers the lesson unsafe or unlawful; or
  • the learner breaches these Terms of Service.

Where services are refused or terminated for safety, misconduct or breaches of these Terms, Bookr may retain any fees already paid and may refuse future bookings.

Learners Under 18 Years of Age

Where a learner is under 18 years of age, the parent or legal guardian making the booking confirms that they:

consent to the learner participating in driving lessons and practical driving tests;

have read and accepted these Terms of Service on the learner’s behalf;

  • accept responsibility for ensuring the learner holds all required licences and documentation;
  • agree to be responsible for all lesson fees, cancellation fees, insurance excesses and other amounts payable under these Terms; and
  • consent to Bookr communicating directly with the learner regarding bookings, reminders and lesson-related matters.

The parent or legal guardian agrees to indemnify Bookr against any loss, damage, liability or cost arising from any breach of these Terms by the learner, to the extent permitted by law.

  • Refund Policy

Effective Date: 1 July 2026

Refunds will not be provided for:

4. Service Area and Out-of-Area Bookings

Bookr operates within designated service areas, which are displayed on its website and may be updated from time to time without notice.

Clients are responsible for confirming that their preferred pickup and drop-off locations fall within Bookr’s current service area before purchasing lesson packages or making bookings.

Where a client purchases a lesson package or books a lesson outside Bookr’s service area and is unable or unwilling to travel to a mutually agreed meeting location within the service area, Bookr may, at its discretion, cancel the booking and issue a refund.

Any such refund will be reduced by any non-refundable payment processing fees, merchant fees, booking platform charges, administrative costs, or other transaction expenses incurred by Bookr in facilitating the booking or refund.

Bookr will make reasonable efforts to offer an alternative meeting location within its service area before cancelling a booking.

For the avoidance of doubt, a client’s change of address, change of circumstances, or inability to travel to an agreed meeting location within Bookr’s service area does not entitle the client to a full refund.

5. Driving Test Bookings

  • Driving test booking fees are non-refundable once confirmed.
  • Clients are responsible for ensuring all documentation and licence requirements are satisfied.
  • If a test is cancelled by the licensing authority due to incomplete documentation or learner ineligibility, all fees remain payable.
